Just outside New York City, Paterson. NJ is a town of 140,000 people ruled by over 140 gangs, mostly made up of Hispanic-American youth. STRAY BULLET is a chronicle of the fall and redemption of Paterson after the accidental killing of 12-year-old Genesis Rincon in broad daylight. The film explores the many connections between the people impacted by Genesis’ death and sheds a light on the root causes of the never-ending cycle of gun and gang violence in the United States. STRAY BULLET goes inside a U.S. court system in crisis and into the dangerous streets of Paterson, New Jersey to uncover why justice itself has become suspect for the Rincon family.
