Growing up mixed race in the vibrant melting pot of Coney Island, New York, Jeffreys went on to defy music industry labels and racism at a time of rigid categorization. He crafted everything from protest anthems and reggae grooves to heartfelt ballads and electrifying party hits - all infused with the joy and pain of personal experience.
